  • In-depth psychometric assessment and counselling sessions with Coutts mentoring programme clients.

  • Coaching sessions with individuals to help them achieve their goals.

  • Coaching senior executives in a variety of organisations.

  • Mentor to executives who prefer to have an outside perspective to their situation

  • Whilst with Royal Mail, I researched and introduced Career Horizons, a person focused workshop to help individuals manage their own career in a holistic way.  At the time it was an innovation to ask delegates and their managers to sign a contract to agree who to do what, when etc.

Career and life planning workshops

These workshops encourage participants to take responsibility for their careers.  They increase self-awareness and the ability to make life and career changes with confidence.  Participants end the workshop with a clear plan of action and a more objective view of their career path.

The workshops are a cost-effective way of enabling a large number of employees to focus on career development issues.  E.g., a client organisation was concerned that a number of their managers were “stuck” in their career. I developed a person focussed workshop (known as Career Horizons) to help individuals manage their own careers in a holistic way.

Individual Career Counselling
These meetings are suited to individuals requiring more in-depth counselling than is possible on career and life planning workshops.  They provide a supportive framework to enable the employee to gain a more objective view of strengths and limitations.

Reasons for referring an employee for career counselling include:

  • to follow up issues arising from performance appraisal reviews

  • to assist in making key career decisions- to complement in-house counselling

  • to consider options and rebuild morale after an unfavourable assessment centre review

  • to plan for redeployment

Career reviews

We can help the individual to step back from their current situation and to view opportunities more objectively.  In our career reviews we take care to explore the strengths and weaknesses of the individuals and also their achievements, sources of difficulty and anxieties.  This enables the individual to achieve a deeper insight into their potential and assess how it could be utilised to their best advantage.
